Volunteer and Help Us Have the Best Haitian Carifest Ever!
Let’s make this Carifest a testament to our Haitian pride and resilience! The Haiti Association of Calgary is seeking passionate volunteers to join our team and create an unforgettable experience at Cowboy Park from August 16th to 18th.
We need your energy and expertise to make this event a resounding success. We're looking for volunteers in five key areas:
Food Booth: Help us serve up delicious Haitian cuisine by assisting with setup, serving customers, and breaking down at the end of the day.
Parade: Bring the rhythm and color of Haiti to the streets with our vibrant parade.
Event Support: Lend a hand with various tasks to ensure the smooth running of our Carifest booth and activities.
Marketing and Sponsorship: Help spread the word about our event and attract sponsors to support our efforts.
By sharing your time and talents, you'll contribute to a celebration that unites our community and inspires pride. Let's work together to make this Carifest a resounding success!

Patty Wars: Jamaica vs. Haiti at the 2024 Calgary Carifest
Get ready for an exciting culinary showdown at the 2024 Calgary Carifest! This year, we’re thrilled to present Patty Wars, a cooking competition that will pit the best chefs from Jamaica and Haiti against each other in a battle for patty supremacy.
Event Description: Calgary Carifest is an annual celebration of Caribbean culture, featuring vibrant music, dance, and, of course, delicious food. This year, one of the highlight of the festival will be Patty Wars, where chefs from Jamaica and Haiti have provided us with Patties that showcase their unique takes and flavours where Judging is set to begin on August 2nd, 2024. will have the chance to sample these mouth-watering creations and vote for their favorite.”
Patty Wars Rules:
Registration: Individuals must register in person at our booth.
Tasting: Participants must taste the patties in a setting agreed upon by representatives of each association.
Vote for the Best Patty: We need your help to decide which patty reigns supreme! Please complete the form below to cast your vote and make your voice heard in this delicious competition.
Announcement: Mark your calendars! The official announcement of Patty Wars will begin on August 2nd, 2024 and the winner will be announced on August 18th. Be sure to stay tuned for more details on how you can participate and support your favorite team.”
